  • 3/4 cup (150g) Sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 2 cups Double cream (500ml)
  • 3 gelatin sheets (6g)

Instructions:

  1. Place gelatin sheets in cold water, allowing them to soften for about ten minutes until very soft.
  2. In a heavy-based pot, combine cream, scored vanilla pod, and sugar. Stir well and slowly bring it to a boil over low to medium heat.
  3. After about ten minutes, once the sugar has dissolved, remove the vanilla pod. Add the softened gelatin, stirring until it dissolves.
  4. Pour the panna cotta into ramekins and refrigerate for at least five hours or overnight if possible.

To serve, dip the ramekins in hot water for a few seconds, invert them onto a serving plate, and the panna cotta will slide right out.
